Our work is an elegant interior where we can see a beautiful lady sitting accompanied by her maid. On a table adorned with an oriental carpet in reddish tones, we find the tools with which the maid is grooming the noble lady, who carries on her right hand a fine cloth waiting to be placed. The chromatic range used by the author is characterized by the soft tones so characteristic of Steenwijck’s work, and also perfectly represents the room, with all its details, such as the fine chair on which the lady is sitting or the mirror placed in the background that carries a coat. The exquisite composition only highlights the great mastery of the author in painting every detail with great delicacy and realism.
